Known as 'the lungs of the Earth', the Amazon is the world's largest tropical rainforest, with a jungle so densely packed some areas have yet to be mapped. Entry into and exploration of the jungle is often difficult as a result of this density, however that has not stopped the tourists that flock to the region each year. Drawn by the allure of this relatively untouched region and the abundance of unique flora and fauna, cruise companies are able utilise the Amazon River to introduce their guests to the fragility and beauty of the Amazon wilderness.
